Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Research and Focus

My research and professional focus is on the balance between community economic development and natural resource management in rural areas of the U.S. and abroad. I oversee OSU’s Social Responsibility Initiative and conduct applied research on the social impacts of energy development. I’ve worked on community development and research projects in Appalachian, mining and agricultural communities in the U.S. and in Ghana.
