Dr. Thelela Ngcetane-Vika and Reverend Gertrude Komani visit CAS!
On June 4, CAS hosted a working lunch with Dr. Thelela Ngcetane-Vika from the University of the Witwatersrand located in Johannesburg, South Africa. Dr. Ngcetane-Vika specializes in corporate governance and international business law. Our talk revolved around trade policy and inter-state travel between African countries and significantly, the South African 2024 general election. She was a wealth of information and her briefing about the political process in South Africa greatly enhanced our knowledge of the recent elections. We hope to invite her back to Columbus to speak to the wider university audience. Dr. Ngcetane-Vika was accompanied by her sister, the Reverend Gertrude Komani of Mt. Vernon AME Church here in Columbus. Mt. Vernon AME Church is the second oldest African American Church in Columbus, established in 1886.
