On May 22, the City of Columbus hosted its 3rd Annual Columbus Africa Day celebration. Africa Day salutes the founding of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) in 1963. 

 

In 2002, the OAU was succeeded by the African Union (AU). The commemoration was well attended at Columbus City Hall. The attendees were treated to an exquisite gastronomic experience of African food, cultural dances, poetry reading, and more.
