 Ethiopia’s Renaissance Dam, slated for completion in 2017, is projected to be the largest hydroelectric power plant in Africa, generating 6,000 megawatts of energy for Ethiopia and its neighbors. The project has also generated controversy in terms of its environmental and social impacts, as well as tensions with Egypt over control of the Blue Nile headwaters.  Dr. Brook Hailu Beshah Adjunct Professor at the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism,School of Communication Studies, Ohio University will present.
