ABOUT LEJA BULELA

Founded in 1993 in the United States by the Congolese Diaspora, LEJA BULELA—which means "SHOWTHATYOU CARE"in the Tshiluba language—is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are dedicated to providing essential humanitarian support to the displaced people of the Grand Kasai Region, located in Tshibombo Tshimuanyi, Kasai Oriental Province, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Originally established to assist displaced families, the organization has evolved into a vital lifeline for the region. Leja Bulela empowers the Congolese community by: Providing Medical Care: Owning and operating the Kalala Muzeu Health Center to deliver lifesaving medical care, maternal services, and pharmaceutical access to a community of over 80,000 people. Driving Initiatives: Empowering the community through targeted programs in healthcare, education, and advocacy. Building the Future: Bridging the gap between resources and those in need to build a brighter, more sustainable future for the "Heart of Africa."
