November and December saw a flurry of exchange between OSU two partner universities in Ethiopia, Addis Ababa University and the University of Gondar.  Dr. Yemataw Wondie, from the President’s office in the University of Gondar and Coordinator for the Study Abroad program, together with Mr. Gebrehana Getaneh, Director of Libraries and Lecturer in IT, visited OSU during the first two weeks of November.  They met with a wide variety of faculty, staff, and students throughout the Health Sciences, OIA, University Libraries, and other departments, all with a focus of building capacity in study abroad administration and undergraduate education, priorities of the US State Department grant funding the exchange.   In December, with support of a Digital First Impact Grant as well as ECA grant funds, Kevin Kula and Corey Tressler of the Office of Distance Education and eLearning, together with Dr. Nicole Kraft from the Department of Communications,  traveled to Ethiopia to share eLearning resources with staff at Addis Ababa, University of Gondar, and the Ethiopian Public Health Institute.  The team distributed 20 ipads through which five pilot OSU iTunesU health sciences courses  can be downloaded for classroom use.  Plans are underway for additional exchange.
